La Petite Camargue
La Petite Camargue is a natural region located in the department of Gard, in the Occitanie region of southern France. It is situated just west of the larger and more famous Camargue region, which extends into the neighboring department of Bouches-du-Rhône. Together, these areas form the Camargue, a vast wetland known for its unique landscapes, biodiversity, and traditional culture.
LaPetite Camargue is a protected natural reserve, designated as a Regional Natural Park, to preserve its exceptional natural environment and the diverse wildlife that inhabits it. The area is characterized by marshlands, lagoons, salt flats, and reed beds, making it a haven for various plant and animal species.
