Vézénobres
Vézénobres , in Occitan Vesenòbre , is a French commune located in the center of the Gard department , in the Occitanie region .
Exposed to a Mediterranean climate, it is drained by the Gard , the Gardon d'Alès , the Avène and various other small rivers. The town has a remarkable natural heritage made up of two natural areas of ecological, fauna and flora interest .
Vézénobres is a rural commune which has 1,824 inhabitants in 2020, after having experienced a sharp increase in population since 1962. It is part of the Alès catchment area . Its inhabitants are called Vézénobrien•ne•s.
The architectural heritage of the commune includes three buildings protected as historic monuments : the Château de Calvières , registered in 1947, the Maison Foucart , registered in 1963, and the Porte de Vézénobres , registered in 1964.
